Under the Weather and Giveaway Winner!

My work event last Saturday went really well! I woke up with a sore throat that persisted through the event, and by the end of the day I was pretty sick. I have since been fighting a head cold with all the fixings. Today is the first day that I am feeling better.

I held off on running, as the heavy feeling in my chest was not at all conducive to running 9.5 miles. I am hoping to get those miles in on Thursday. I will take it easy this weekend, and then just ramp up again next week. Luckily my training has me going for a long run every other week, so I can dovetail this distance into the shorter distance week. Being a workaholic may be good for my career, but me thinks it's not so good for my running.

My local running store was good about taking my shoes back. They were clearly not happy about doing it, but they did exchange them out. Yeah!

I'm home today, drinking lots of tea still and getting caught up on small projects around the house. Hubs and I had taken yesterday and today off for ourselves, but my cold has definitely put a damper on the fun we were planning. Oh well, at least I was already scheduled to have this time off.

I didn't get much response to my giveaway, but since I was away from my computer the last few days I will just chose a winner instead of extending the giveaway. Besides, I have another giveaway coming up soon!

I used random.org and the winner was

Congrats Carrie! Send me your mailing info and I will get the package out to you. You can leave it on my blog or send it to me at traininglikeagirl@gmail.com.

  2. Hope you feel better soon! Being under the weather is no fun at all, and even worse when you know you have to train. Glad that you seem to have everything under control though! Don't wear yourself out too much!
