Mini Mini

The rest on Tuesday was the right thing to do! I ran tonight and it was great! I thought a lot of how I would push myself during the race and how I could push myself during training. I didn't eat much today leading up to my run, but did have things like brown rice and egg white for breakfast, a mini Cliff power bar (have y'all tried the minis? I love that they are 100 calories and just the right size for me!)  My afternoon snacks were a small yogurt with instant oatmeal mixed in, a mini Thomas bagel with butter and a corn, VitaMuffin. There's lots more mini going on than what I saw yesterday at Disney! I ran before dinner, which was a huge burrito with chicken, rice and black beans as well as onions, salsa and avocado. I added plain yogurt to mine, which is a great way to have that sour cream flavor and richness with way less fat and calories and lots more protein. I think the ShotBlok and 1/2 of a 5 Hour Energy helped too, but here are the stats for my run tonight:

That totaled 2.35 miles in 33 minutes, which includes a 4 minute warmup walk. It feels so good to get into the rhythm  think about relaxing and have a great time doing the intervals. Tomorrow is EIGHT miles! I will have breakfast in the morning before running, since that is just too far to run without a real meal beforehand. 


I was so glad to read comments the other day that told me how close I am, and that getting over the 10 mile hump is the hardest. Thanks for the encouragement and information!
