I Think I Can, I Think I Can Chooooo Chooooo

Yesterday was a day of fun and adventure so I never got my 3rd run in for last week. I lazed about a bit too long today and didn't get on the treadmill until about 8:30 tonight. If it weren't for my niece, I might have skipped it entirely. I wouldn't have skipped for any good reason, just the silly ones that I make up and let myself believe instead of seizing the moment and pushing forward. She asked me a few times if I was going to run, and when I was in my office 'getting some work done' I heard her ask Hubs if I was going to run. Off I went, because I knew I would feel awful if I didn't and because I am trying hard to set an example for her. 

My goal for my shorter runs is about getting faster, and tonight was a success:

Walking: 3 mph (20 min/mile) ~ 0% Incline min.11  
Running: 15 min/mile (4 mph) ~ 0% Incline min.25  
Running: 10 min/mile (6 mph) ~ 0% Incline min.14  
Running: 15 min/mile (4 mph) ~ 0% Incline min.16

What were the thoughts in my head tonight while running?

          This is what the training is all about. I will keep pushing. Relax. Breathe. Drop your shoulders. This is hard. I hope I don't puke. Relax. Deeeeeep breaths. LOOK at the bracelet, remember WHY you are pushing yourself. 

What sort of things did I eat today?

          Some leftover chicken wings. Some egg rice. Skinny Cow mint, ice cream sandwich. Goldfish. Mac n cheese. Salad. Animal crackers. Mini bagel with peanut butter. 

I certainly gave myself enough carbs to get through my run tonight. ;) I need to be on the road by 5am tomorrow so I should really get some sleep. It's a big couple of days, with a 5 hour drive tomorrow and meetings for work, meetings for work on Tuesday followed by a drive to Disney and then all day, whirlwind adventure at Disney at Wednesday. Weeesh! Starbucks look out!

  3. Nice work! I've been thinking about hopping on the treadmill for some of my runs because Colorado is having this weird burst of humidity....how do you do it without getting bored?

  4. Thanks Gwen! I love it and might have to print that and hang it at the treadmill!

    @ Heather: I find the treadmill to be a bit boring, but I also really appreciate (rely on?) the pacing that I get from the treadmill.

    @ Megan: We will have fun, thanks! I'm sure there will be some pictures up after the trip.
