After the Week Off

I never got my nap, instead I took my niece to a movie and had popcorn and chocolate covered raisins with some Sprite and snowcaps thrown in for good measure. On the way home we stopped at Target to spend some of my birthday gift card. There were some great colors and styles for shirts, but I found a pink tank that fit well and cost $4.98/each. So now, I own 3 bright pink, workout tanks. I came home put on a different, new running shirt I bought yesterday (also on sale) and a pair of shorts. I decided to give the Lanolin a try, but realized it couldn't cut it. I put Bodyglide over the Lanolin, but that didn't work well either. Only one option left - change into my running capris. It makes such a difference when I run in capris over shorts, regardless of the style or the inseam.

On my third attempt I started up at 4.5mph and hung out there for 10 minutes before slowing down to 4.0mph and then kicking it back up to 4.5. I am so close to 4.5 being my comfortable pace for the treadmill. The red text shows my first attempt, with just the Lanolin. I got in just under 1 mile in 13 minutes. The blue text is my 2nd attempt, still stinking like a barn (don't get me wrong, Lanolin is great stuff, but it does remind me of goats) and the mustard color is the last stint I ran. *Any time that shows as 4.4mph is actually 4.5mph.* The second attempt was 0.55 miles in 8 minutes and the final stretch was 1.76 miles in 26 minutes.

I bought a new piece of posterboard so I can get my next round of training board up. I saw tonight that I should be doing 11 miles this weekend! Seems to me, I need way more practice over here at the 1/2 way mark.
