Sunny Sunday

Last night was a late night, with watching Home and Garden television, unpacking and getting community garden work done. I got a special treat of hot chocolate from my husband, which was yummy! I think the sugar gave me a second wind so I ended up being awake until 2am. Oddly enough, when I awoke at 7:15 I was feeling pretty ready for the day and the sunny streets hanging out in the low-70's was quite inviting. I decided to pop a ShotBlok and throw on my running clothes to ensure nothing got in the way of run today.

It was my first time on the new loop since we moved. I didn't even bother mapping it out, but instead headed out and felt great to be on the street. I started my iPod with 'Shake It, Shake It, Shake It' by Michael Franti and Spearhead. I only know about this song because of Running Duck, and I'm glad that I do! This song is laced with feel-good juice that lets the endorphins take over.

My shins started hurting pretty much right away, but I have learned that if I go slowly through the pain it goes away. It's still not in my consciousness that I am better suited for long distance running.

*Please excuse this interruption to your regularly scheduled programming for a major thank you to Blogger for autosave! I just did something and closed a bunch of tabs, this being one of them. I came back to find my draft just as I had left it before I did something*

I huffed and puffed a bit towards the end, but I think that's mostly because I was up late and didn't drink much water as the night went on. Mostly I just kept upbeat music on, focused on keeping my abs pulled in and enjoyed being out!

It's breakfast time for sure!

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed the song! Any song that repeats the phrase "You're perfect just the way you are" is pretty awesome in my book!
And thanks so much for the link to my page, too!! :)
It sounds like you enjoyed your run which, at the end of the day, is what really matters!

  4. Thanks Running Duck, you're right! As long as I enjoyed it, that's the most important thing! Thanks for stopping by Holley; the hot chocolate was a great way to end the day even if it did get me wired for a few hours. Thanks Jen!
