New Running Partner

This morning I went for a run with one dog, which worked out much better than trying to go with two dogs. I was sluggish this morning, I assume because I am still getting over my workout on Sunday. I am glad I didn't run yesterday, so I had more time to recover.

I popped 2 Shot Bloks, attached a poop bag to Max's collar a la a bow tie and off we went. Max has long legs and so my slow run was just a brisk walk for him. All is good though because he does have mild hip dysplasia so I didn't want to overdo it.

We went 1.9 miles in 23:33 for a 12:23 pace. w00t.

I came back and immediately had 1 cup of soy milk with 1/2 scoop of protein powder. It's time to get the rest of my breakfast ready and me ready so that I can head out to work. I have a bunch to do today, but the day's started off great! Bring it!

Oh, and I will get the biscuit recipe up next time. Promise.


  1. When I ran with my dog a week or so ago, he spent most of the time just speed walking. LOL

  2. I was glad to know I wasn't pushing him too hard, but it made me feel a little bad. There were a few times where I encouraged him to keep up, and that felt really good! I was even more surprised to get home and find my pace was in the 12's, since I definitely felt like we were staggering out there.

  3. I've never gone running with a dog. It sounds like too much work for me, 4 pound malteepoohuahua could never make it. ;)
