Net Positive

Yesterday marked my first complete week logging with My Fitness Pal. I am very happy with it, especially since logging on my phone is easy and convenient. I wish the reporting tools had more detail, and indicated my calorie goal. I have my goal set at a loss of 1.5 pounds per week or a net of just under 1500 calories. This keeps me a bit too hungry, and isn't something I can happily achieve each day.

Here are the different weekly losses based on net calories:
2000 net calories: 0.4lbs per week
1900 net calories: 0.6lbs per week
1800 net calories: 0.8lbs per week
1700 net calories: 1lb per week
1500 net calories: 1.4lbs per week

I had a steady week of weight loss days. Looking at the numbers I think it's reasonable to assume I can stay in the 1700-1800 calories per day range for around 1lb per week with one or two days in the lower 1500-1600 range. I want to see this weight just disappear, but I am finally accepting the limits needs of my body. Steady, healthy, and sustainable weight loss is just not 1.5 or 2 pounds per week for me, in fact it's not for most people. This week my net calories:

Monday 8/13: Net 1661 calories
Tuesday 8/14: Net 2002 calories
Wednesday 8/15: Net 1711 calories
Thursday 8/16: Net 1527 calories
Friday 8/17: Net 1974 calories
Saturday 8/18: Net 1914 calories
Sunday 8/19: Net 1806 Calories

This is translating into small snacks throughout the day and lots of roughage - think spinach in my smoothies. Eating a little bit every few hours is really key for me to keep from getting too hungry. I'll work on getting another post up this week about my working out and a new inspiration journal I am planning to start.
