Training Day 6

I only have time for a quick update, as my alarm did not go off this morning and I am running late. I knew that I would be too tired to run when I got home tonight, so I am opting for a more hectic day knowing that my run is complete!

3.6 miles, 49 minutes, 13:36 minute mile

Now I am having a huge bowl of plain yogurt with homemade granola (oats, pecans, a few almonds, psyllium (for extra fiber), vanilla protein powder, cinnamon and cranberries).

Here's to starting the week right off y'all!

  1. Man, I hate it when I'm late on a Monday! But you got your run in! Congrats! That's usually the one thing I figure I can make up "later" and then never do...

  4. It was yummy! The cranberries were sweetened, but I offset that by not sweetening my yogurt. It kept me full for long time!

  6. Thanks Maryann! It was easy. I am making another batch soon and I will put up more details about how I did it.

  7. I bought some plain yogurt the other day, but I couldn't think of what to mix in it. But you just gave me a great idea! I have this really tasty strawberry protein powder, and I bet it would be awesome. Especially with some fresh berries mixed in!
I hope you've been doing well!

  8. How was the addition of the psyllium in the granola? Brilliant idea, as granola can be frustratingly densely caloric....

  9. The psyllium makes for a much denser meal, which is great for me! I forgot though and sometimes don't guzzle down the increased amount of water that I need to get it through my belly. Ouch!

I have been on a huge sour cream kick, which is really odd for me. I have been using 0%, plain Greek yogurt though, which offers less calories, more protein and I can use a lot more of it without feeling guilty!
