I only have time for a quick update, as my alarm did not go off this morning and I am running late. I knew that I would be too tired to run when I got home tonight, so I am opting for a more hectic day knowing that my run is complete!
3.6 miles, 49 minutes, 13:36 minute mile
Now I am having a huge bowl of plain yogurt with homemade granola (oats, pecans, a few almonds, psyllium (for extra fiber), vanilla protein powder, cinnamon and cranberries).
Here's to starting the week right off y'all!
Man, I hate it when I'm late on a Monday! But you got your run in! Congrats! That's usually the one thing I figure I can make up "later" and then never do...
ReplyDeleteGreat job getting your run in! And your breakfast sounds delish!
ReplyDeletemmm homemade granola sounds yum!
ReplyDeleteIt was yummy! The cranberries were sweetened, but I offset that by not sweetening my yogurt. It kept me full for long time!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the run! keep up the great work :) YUM to that breakfast!! Ive never made my own granola but I like the idea of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maryann! It was easy. I am making another batch soon and I will put up more details about how I did it.
ReplyDeleteI bought some plain yogurt the other day, but I couldn't think of what to mix in it. But you just gave me a great idea! I have this really tasty strawberry protein powder, and I bet it would be awesome. Especially with some fresh berries mixed in!
ReplyDeleteI hope you've been doing well!
How was the addition of the psyllium in the granola? Brilliant idea, as granola can be frustratingly densely caloric....

The psyllium makes for a much denser meal, which is great for me! I forgot though and sometimes don't guzzle down the increased amount of water that I need to get it through my belly. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteI have been on a huge sour cream kick, which is really odd for me. I have been using 0%, plain Greek yogurt though, which offers less calories, more protein and I can use a lot more of it without feeling guilty!
