Maybe Just Rambling

How true is that statement? I think when you look around see all the ways in which people are out of control in our society, it's easy to believe. Often times regret manifests as anger, think road rage/parents freaking out at a child's hockey game/insert random freak out here. If we were more disciplined, in many areas of our lives there wouldn't be the pain that comes from regret. All the little pieces of feeling out of control and lost in our lives add up and rear their ugly heads of regret.

One day when you hear the words 'Divorce',  'Type II Diabetes', 'Hypertension' or worse: 'Stroke', 'Heart Attack', you won't be able to go back and relive those days. Things have fallen apart, and yet when you look back on those days the rainbows and kittens are nowhere to be found. If we commit to our goals, there will still be pain and frustration. It's not alway easy to go to the gym every day for an hour or run when you're sore from yesterday's workout. You might as well put elbow grease into your goals and your dreams, since nothing will just float to your doorstep. Stand up for your health. Fight for your skinny jeans. Combat your genetics with vegetables.

I hope this makes sense and my point comes through, sometimes I get off on a tangent and the point gets lost.

  1. Makes sense to me. :) I especially like 'combat your genetics with vegetables'. What you've said holds true for physical health as well as emotional and mental health...in all aspects of life.

  2. I just found your blog and I think it's great! I'm still trying to find that balance between a fun social life (aka, lots of drinking and empty calories), healthy eating, and working-out. I'm toying w/ the idea of a 1/2 marathon at the end of this year, so I think your insight will be really helpful!
